A brief discussion on the evolution of web design

The process of designing a website has covered a journey of almost a quarter of a century. In the early 90s when the concept of website came into public, no one could think that this will bring an evolution in the mankind. And after almost 24 years, website and its design has become an integral part of human life. During this long period, so many changes have taken place. And in this passage we will take a look at the evolution of web design along with time. We will start with the beginning of web design.
The concept was introduced in the year 1991 first. At that time website was a mere source of information only. Everything was in text form. There were no graphics, images, layouts, templates. Everything was simple. There was nothing like high-speed or anything; there were only dial-up connections that time. Gradually the introduction of HTML caused a few changes in the design but all those were at the basic level.

By the mid 90s, the web design field had made its entry to the middle age. People had already realized the importance of this effective medium. Table-based contents and layouts used to be the favorite of the designers at that time. The focus of the design shifted from only providing information to appearance. We saw the blend of text and images in the website. Graphical elements began to be introduced by the designers. This was the time when the seed of the present design world was sowed.

Finally in the early 2000, after the introduction of Flash, we entered into the advanced age of web design. During this time we were introduced with web 2.0 and Cascade Style Sheet (CSS). CSS made the separation of content and graphics possible. And it made it easier to manage the content and design easier. The appearance of the website is now given much importance along with the content quality.

Hopefully, in the coming days, we will be able to see more relevant changes that will improve the experience of internet access to a more advanced level.
